About

Welcome to Rusty Shades Restoration! My name is Johnny, and you’ll see many restoration video projects here. I restored a lot of different things! From antique tools and machines from the past to rusty, vintage, beautiful items. I have always had a passion for antiques and history, but at the same time, I love to make something beautiful with my own hands. I started to work on restoring projects from my small attic a few years ago. Meanwhile, I developed a lot of my passion, and with your support, I will go even further, trying to share my knowledge, learn, and experiment with many things on this channel. I did all this to follow my dreams for many years: to deliver fantastic restoration content and share this joy with the world! Video Description

In this video, I restore an old rusty double-burner cooking stove made in Germany in the 1920s. More about the restoration process: It was very challenging but rewarding, as usual, and I learned a lot about gas-cooking stoves! The little stove was in disrepair when I got it and I was sure it would make the subject of a beautiful restoration video. The burners were damaged entirely and couldn't be used anymore; one had a considerable hole that required a lot of skill and patience to repair and many rust pits and cracks. If you want to learn more about this antique German cooking stove, I encourage you to watch this video. When I saw it, even though I was shocked at how bad it looked, full of rust, bends, chipped enamel, and burn! After removing the rust, the parts were painted with heat-resistant paint and cold galvanization and I wire-brushed all the beautiful brass parts. At the end of the video, I made a test so you can see how it works! More about the double burner cooking: It was manufactured by the famous Junker & Ruh at the beginning of the 20th century. I hope I have caught everything, but if you have any questions, you can comment, and I'll get back to you! Cheers! Johnny.
