However, one of the exceptions to this usually correct story is the Zand Dynasty, who ruled much of Iran for a brief period during the second half of the 18th century. Their rule started off strong on the back of their founder, rising as the premier Iranian based Empire of their day, but soon their courts were filled with the blood of kin slaying in contest for the throne.
