I just had a full conversation with my 18-year-old self, right before that younger version of me left for Stanford in 1985. We used AI to recreate him. But the real experiment? Seeing how this tech might help all of us reflect, learn, and pass on what we’ve picked up. We had a long, strange, hopeful conversation. To create an 18 year old version of me, we used: Runway – for some image generation Heygen – for the video of Reid at 18 ElevenLabs – for voice replication A custom GPT, trained on my pre-2000s self to suggest what a young Reid would ask No archival video. No special effects from 1985. Just a mix of memory, imagination, and AI.
