Providence shines when I receive a private invitation to search through the home of a long-time antique dealer—a true private pick filled with vintage treasures and collector favorites. The items I uncover are plentiful, unique, and truly terrific! This is my largest antique haul to date—nearly $4,000 spent—and the van is full of beautiful and interesting pieces. We begin unpacking what I brought home, starting with an elegant 1910s folding dressing table and screen, the likes of which I have never seen. From colorful quilts and mesh purses to valentines, cigar linens, Shelley china, and a 1920s camera, the collection goes far beyond what you might find at a typical garage sale or thrift store. Highlights include an 8-string mandolin, a silver cutwork frame, and a mid-century violinist sculpture—unusual vintage finds that many collectors will appreciate. Along the way, I share the stories and market insights behind these antique and vintage acquisitions: a 1910s feather hat, Currier & Ives prints, and original Singer child’s sewing machines. Other standout pieces include a Prussian art nouveau plate, a jeweled carriage clock, and a scarce original Pierrot clown from the 1920s.
