【演講內容簡介】 1920年代初，印度學者玻色在達卡大學課堂中，以類似擲兩枚硬幣得到兩個正面的機率是三分之一的錯誤分布方式，竟然可以得到正確的普郎克輻射定律，於是理解到，在微觀尺度適用海森堡測不準原理的範圍，利用「相同光量子是完全無法分辨」的假設，理論可以推導出和實驗完全相同的光子機率分布，然而由於這個假設和當時所知的麥克斯威-波茲曼分布是相抵觸的，所以當他將此理論投稿期刊時，都被認為是錯誤而遭拒絕，他不得已將論文寄給愛因斯坦，並在其支持下論文獲得發表，愛因斯坦更將這種分布方式推廣到原子，進而預測了一種新的物質狀態--玻色愛因斯坦凝聚態。從此，量子世界的一大家族---「玻色子」終於在世人面前登場，這也才有之後物理學在雷射、冷原子、玻色愛因斯坦凝聚態，原子干涉等方面的重大進展。 在這一場演講中，石明豐教授將告訴你，如何從擲硬幣開始，結合機率分布、波的干涉等，你也可以了解不同於古典世界的波色子統計現象，並能以此為基礎，明瞭雷射和愛因斯坦凝聚態等物理現象。 【同期講座】 • 【臺大探索第9期】沒人懂的量子力學
